If you have booked an outdoor photography maternity session with Baby Bliss Studio, LLC,  then this blog post is for you! I am here to make sure we capture how beautiful you are during your pregnancy (even when sometimes you don't feel like it).  

I have over 20+ different pieces and luxury dresses in my client wardrobe to help bring your vision to life. Being a client, you are able to come in prior to your session to try on outfits or dresses to know exactly what fits you the best. 

Most clients still bring one or two outfits that they have selected and purchased. At the bottom I will list some of my favorite places for dresses. 

Please tell me what YOU have envisioned. This is your moment. Let me know your expectations. Think about what you want! Do you want your belly out? Are you comfortable being naked? Are you going for lifestyle, fantasy, modern or classic?

Early morning (like right after the sun rises) and evening hours are the best time to capture your maternity session. Lighting plays a very important role in capturing beautiful images. We may need to adjust days or times if there is inclement weather. 

Favorite outdoor nature locations:

• California Woods Nature Preserve-creeks and wooded areas
• Ault Park- Has both nature and structure. 
• Devou Park- City overlook and nature
• Cincinnati Nature Center- Costs $$$ to get in. Has beautiful lakes, ponds, fields, cabin and more. 
• Farms (Misty Ridge Stable, Stoneridge Stables, Neltner Farm, Sugar Ridge)
• Eden Park/Khrons Conservatory- city overlook, bridges, river, nature
• French Park-creeks, fields, nature
• Woodland Mound- large grass fields, trails, river overlook 
• East Fork Lake-Beach- large lake area looks like the beach in the evening
• Big Bone Lick State Park- Bison and nature
• Big Tree Plantation-in fall
• AJ Jolly- can even rent canoes to have a lake adventure!

• Washington Park- music hall, different structures, wooden doors, gazebo
• Newport on the Levee- bridges, pathways, river, different colorful shops

 Items that are helpful during your session:

Black, nude and white underwear 

Strapless bra or gel nipple pasties (you don't have to wear a bra if you are comfortable)

A pair of jeans (maternity or ones that you can pull up over your hips and leave open)

Hair brush & make-up

A few pieces of jewelry

Water and snacks if you get nauseous or hangry

FAQ

When should I get my maternity photos done?

• The best time to take your photos is in your third trimester between 33-36 weeks. During this time your bump should be showing well, and you have not gotten to the extremely uncomfortable period. If you have any risk of preterm labor, please let me know.

Can I use a tanner before my pictures?

• I would discourage you from using any self-tanners or lotions prior to any session. These tend to photograph with an orange tinge that can look unnatural. 

Can I bring any items with me?

• Of course! If there is a special item, ultrasound picture, cute little boots or anything else that is meaningful to you then we can work them into the images. 

My partner wants to come, is that ok?

• I love capturing images with your partner. Children can come as well. However, I suggest after children's photos and family photos are taken that you bring someone or allow me to bring someone to help with the children.
